Nan Wynne McFadden
10/8/1924 - 2/28/2010



 Nannie "Nan" Wynne McFadden, age 85, died Saturday, February 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home at 3:00 on Friday, March 5, 2010. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Friday at the funeral Home. Burial will take place in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Born in Hulbert, AR, October 8 , 1924, daughter of the late Jessi Ira Wynne and the late Lou Ella Kellum Wynne. She married Clyde Stuckey McFadden, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 2, 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann Singletary and two grandchildren, Michael Singletary and Stephanie Blackman. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Darlington and an active member of the Ann Herbert Circle.


Mrs. McFadden was also preceded in death by a Margaret Higgins and three brothers, Harry Clayton Wynne, Loren Wynne and Ira Wynne.


She is also survived by a very special nephew, Bob Higgens of San Jose, CA, a niece, Jo (James) Thompson of St. Marys, GA; sisters-in-law, Mary M. (Ray) Clanton and Marion M. (Bill) Harper and special friend, Doris Mims.

So sorry about the familys loss. I used to work with Nan at Darlington Medical Center. Always remember the friendship times we shared together with her and Clyde. What a great pair... will surely miss her. Our prayers are with the family

I am stephanie blackman, nan mcfadden's grand daughter. My mom, Margaret singletary collapsed thurs afternoon and is hospitalized due to severe high blood pressure and an irregular heatbeat from left ventricular hypertrophy. She is expected to be released Sun. My mother remains extremely up-set she was unable to attend her mother's funeral.
