Jerrie Blayton Britt
7/26/1935 - 2/17/2010



Geraldine "Jerrie" Blayton Britt, age 74, widow of James Henry Britt, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Saturday, February 20 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery.


Born July 26, 1935 in Camden, SC, she is a daughter of the late James Perry Blayton and the late Clara Edwards Blayton. A loving mother and grandmother, Jerrie was a devoted Christian who was steadfast in her faith in the Lord. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers. Mrs. Britt was also a big fan of the USC Gamecocks and the UNC Tarheels.


Surviving are her son, Randy (Nancy Dunn) Britt of Hartsville, two daughters, Libby (Jerry) Thompson and Susan (Phillip) Gibson all of Darlington, three grandchildren; Jamie Britt, Amanda Thompson and Britt Atkinson, and two great-grandchildren, Ian Britt and Eli Britt.


The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at Belk Funeral Home.


She was preceded in death by a brother, James Blayton and two sisters; Margaret Blayton and Edith Lee.


The family would like to thank Dr. Orachun Sitti and Staff for their care and also special caregivers, Sonya Harrison, and Carolina’s Tonda Spinks and Dorothy Hines.
