GROVER COLLINS



DARLINGTON - Grover Cleveland Collins, age 96, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 in a Florence hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Black Creek Baptist Church with interment following in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.



Mr. Collins was born in Darlington County, son of the late Luther Redmond and Maude Bryant Collins. He was married to the late Rosa Lee Weinberg Collins and now to Dorothy Pierce Collins. Mr. Collins had retired as an airport supervisor with the State of South Carolina and was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and the Men’s Sunday School Class.



Surviving in addition to his wife of Darlington, are two grandchildren, Stacy Collins and Tracy Collins, both of Detroit, Michigan; nieces and nephews; step-children: L. C. (Sarah) McKenzie of Sumter, Larry (Sheila) McKenzie of Darlington and Bob (Rachel) McKenzie of Florence; fourteen step-grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.



Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his son, Grover Collins, Jr.



The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Bob and Rachel McKenzie, 3587 Breckridge Circle, Florence, SC.



Memorials are suggested to Black Creek Baptist Church, 137 Mont Clare Road, Darlington, SC 29540.
