Glenn Chestnut Obituary

Darlington - Willie Glenn Chestnut, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend went home to be with his Lord. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21st at Darlington Presbyterian Church, with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Born in Galivants Ferry, SC, he was the son of the late Marvin Benjamin Chestnut and Agnes Johnson Chestnut. He was educated in the public schools of Horry County and graduated from Aynor High School in 1981. He served in the US Army. He was a graduate of the South Carolina Police Academy and joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1985 where he was assigned to Troop 5 in Darlington County. He was a graduate of Florence Darlington Technical College and Southern Illinois University. He received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina and was ABD Ph.D. in Education Administration from University of South Carolina. He retired as Chief of Police at Florence Regional Airport after 20 years. He was an Instructor of Criminal Justice at Florence Darlington Technical College where he loved sharing his love of law enforcement with students. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a Member of Darlington Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Page Michelle Campbell of Darlington. Together they raised two beautiful children; Christian Campbell Chestnut and Kinsley Glenn Chestnut, both of the home and his beloved Yorkie - "Ralph". He is also survived by brothers: Marvin Benjamin Chestnut, Jr., Al (Carol) Chestnut, Joe (Laura) Chestnut and sisters: Dorothy Chestnut, Annie Chestnut, Jeanette (Michael) Accardo, Martha Chestnut and the late Carl Chestnut.
